The Eyes of March are upon us again, yes another month has flown by and welcome to this month’s wee ditty.

Here I am again composing this in Los Angeles having driven up from Tucson, boy was that a wee drive, starting at 8.30am and arriving in the early evening. It’s the expanse and wide straight roads that just fly by, it’s easy to drive but you have to overcome the boredom… of mile after mile and scenery that seems to go on and on. But I must admit driving into a valley that is at sea level and 20 minutes later you are up at 4100ft and snow on the side of the hills and road. The temperature certainly fooled me; I packed shorts, t-shirts etc …. Plus a couple of jeans and two sweaters …. Good job I did, it’s been cold and it looks like I have a cold as well hhhmmmm!!!! :) Not too worry what a show the Tucson Gem Show is, crystals for kilometres and kilometres, I am proud to say I am bringing some of the beautiful pieces back with me. I also caught up with Marilyn from Aaaahmuse Centre who introduced me to Paul Jensen who was a Marcel Vogel student and he then moved the pendants forward and specialised on developing the Vogel Power Pendants to what they are today. I was very lucky to be able to spend an hour or so with Paul, who passed on some amazing information about Marcel Vogel and the history of the Vogel Wands and Pendants … what an amazing time. I wish to thank Paul who gave me his time, for the enlightenment of his stories and the training. And lest I forget, I wish to thank Marilyn for our introduction and her wonderful welcome.

Looking over the wonderful collection of Vogel Power Pendants that Paul had just put out before the show had started; I decided to rearrange the display oopppsss!!! and bring quite a few with me …. the truth is I couldn’t help myself J and Paul just smiled and refilled the stand. This selection will be available from the shop by the beginning of March (maybe even the Milford Fair on the first Sunday of March).

I will now announce the launch of the wonderful Earth Heart Power Pendant, this has an amazing energy and I have only managed to get 5 of them. Nonetheless I managed to get one of this wonderful cut in the very rare Golden Labradorite (Paul even mentioned this crystal in our chat and that putting it in the Earth Heart was very prevalent). After spending time gathering my stock of Vogel Power Pendants I was about to leave when I spied some exquisite Vogel Wands and after I picked one up and started to play with it ….. I was very taken aback by the energy. Now why I hear you ask because they were slightly different …… now why???? Well I asked Marilyn and she explained that these are cut from Lemurian Seed Crystal ….. well I carried on playing and testing the amazing energy. The Vogel Cut Wands are amazing in the own right and world known for it … but cut in Lemurian Seed Crystal is pretty special, I bought six out of the eight and you can see these in the shop. After this and the big hole in my pocket I decided to have another walk around this part of the show …. and talk about temptation :). I managed to control myself a little but also managed to acquire some more really special pieces and special cuts, e.g. Meditation Quartz. Not too worry; we had supper with her at the launch party and it was really nice to be in a relaxed surrounding with Melody. I went back the following day and caught up with Melody and she was most gracious in getting a book for me, in which she inscribed a personal inscription, you can read if you come to the shop. This wonderful book “Love is in the Earth” encyclopaedia with over 1100 crystals and explanations in it (I will warn you it is huge and heavy … really heavy). We will have it in the shop as soon as it arrives in NZ, it is truly amazing.

Ruby – motivation & action

Ruby is the red variety of the very hard mineral corundum which takes its colour traces of chromium and forms characteristic barrel shaped crystals. Ruby has a long history of use as a gemstone and in Ayurvedic healing traditions ruby is the stone of the sun. As the sun is the centre of the solar system so the heart is the centre of the physical body. Ruby balances the heart, enhancing its function and the circulation of the blood and improving the quality of thought and feeling associated with the heart – confidence, security, self-esteem and our relationship with others. It acts by energizing us at the very centre of our being. It balances by reminding us of the huge reservoirs of energy within us that can enable us to succeed in any venture where we have full trust in our own abilities. Red is the energy of gravity, pulling things together and establishing reality. It is also the colour relating to the creation of matter and its manifestation. So it makes sense that a red stone such as a ruby can help us to achieve our goals, particularly as ruby has such a connection with the heart, the seat of our desires.

RELEASING THE HEART’S POTENTIAL

This net will help release pent-up energy in the heart, remove guilt and unworthiness, and reveal your true strengths and potential. If possible have a white sheet to lie on; this encourages a gentle cleansing of negative emotions.

Place a small ruby crystal at the heart chakra in the middle of the chest. Place 12 clear quartz crystals, points outwards, equally spaced around the body. Lie in the net for about five minutes.

Often the heart suffers pain because we feel unable to fulfil our wishes and desires. After pain such as this we often create barriers in an attempt to prevent future hurt. Unfortunately, what this really does is just separates us further from the source of our own power and courage.

Use six small ruby crystals – stones that are not of gem quality are inexpensive and fine to use.

1.       Place one ruby above the head and one below the feet in the middle.

2.       Place one ruby crystal next to each arm and one next to each knee so that the six stones are all evenly spaced around the body.
          Stay in this position for five to ten minutes.
